
Hudson Stern, MD
Retina Surgeon
Dr. Hudson Stern grew up in Rockford, Illinois. He attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL, where he majored in computer science, played on the varsity soccer team, and graduated summa cum laude. He worked as a software developer for a medical software company for a year before going on to medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. There he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as a junior and graduated with honors.
After medical school, he fulfilled an internship year in internal medicine at Rush University Medical Center and then went on to ophthalmology residency at Cook County Health. Upon finishing residency, he completed a two-year surgical retina fellowship with Cook County and Retina Associates, and he joined the practice immediately after completing his training.
Dr. Stern is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is on staff at Cook County Health, where he continues to train residents and fellows. He is a member of the American Society of Retinal Surgeons (ASRS), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and the American Medical Association (AMA). He speaks Spanish.
Dr. Stern enjoys spending time with his wife (who is a dentist) and their three young daughters.
