Dr. Aaron Weinberg grew up in the Chicago suburbs. He was a student at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, earning a baccalaureate in biology and continuing with a masters program in biochemistry. Dr. Weinberg received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He was trained in ophthalmology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He returned to the University of Illinois in Chicago for advanced fellowship training in retinal surgery. It was at the University of Illinois where his long association and friendship with Dr. Resnick began.

Dr. Weinberg is also board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is engaged in research in a number of collaborative clinical trials evaluating therapeutics for retinal disease.

Dr. Weinberg met his wife as a freshman college student. They have two children. In his scant free time he is a passionate golfer and coaches little league baseball.
