Kenneth I. Resnick, MD
Dr. Kenneth Resnick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he studied cellular biology and chemistry. He came to Chicago to study at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree in 1981. He then returned to Ann Arbor for his medical internship. Dr. Resnick completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Yale New Haven Hospital in 1985. At Yale he developed a life long fascination with the retina, which led to pursuing a fellowship in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Resnick is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. On returning to Chicago he joined the full time faculty of the Eye & Ear Infirmary of the University of Illinois. At the University of Illinois, Dr. Resnick conducted medical research and taught ophthalmology residents and fellows in retinal surgery. Dr. Resnick established Retina Associates in 1991. Dr. Resnick is interested in art and design and pursues many design projects in his spare time. He and his wife have three children.
Aaron B. Weinberg, MD
Dr. Aaron Weinberg grew up in the Chicago suburbs. He was a student at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, earning a baccalaureate in biology and continuing with a masters program in biochemistry. Dr. Weinberg received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He was trained in ophthalmology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He returned to the University of Illinois in Chicago for advanced fellowship training in retinal surgery. It was at the University of Illinois where his long association and friendship with Dr. Resnick began. Dr. Weinberg is also board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is engaged in research in a number of collaborative clinical trials evaluating therapeutics for retinal disease. Dr. Weinberg met his wife as a freshman college student. They have two children. In his scant free time he is a passionate golfer and coaches little league baseball.
Kevin H. Patel, MD
Dr. Kevin Patel was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. He studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago for both his undergraduate and medical education. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. He earned his medical degree while also becoming a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Patel did his general ophthalmology residency training at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. He then completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at California Pacific Medical Center/West Coast Retina in San Francisco. Dr. Patel is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. In his free time, Dr. Patel loves to travel, play golf and soccer, and enjoy the outdoors with hiking and biking.
Mohamed K. Adenwalla, MD
Dr. Adenwalla was born in Osaka, Japan. He grew up in Kobe, Japan attending an American School. He came to the US for his education and graduated from Georgetown University with an undergraduate degree in biology and a masters of science in physiology and biophysics. Dr. Adenwalla came to Chicago for his medical education. He completed a second master’s degree in medical imaging sciences and his doctor of medicine degree at The Finch University of Health Sciences, The Chicago Medical School in North Chicago. He finished his general ophthalmology residency training at the J.H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County after an internship in internal medicine at Evanston Hospital. Dr. Adenwalla completed his training in vitreo-retinal surgery with a fellowship at the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver General Hospital in Canada. Dr. Adenwalla, his wife, and son reside in Chicago. His wife practices optometry in Chicago. Dr. Adenwalla loves the outdoors and is an avid sportsman.
